Prey (2022) – Movie Review

Director: Dan Trachtenberg

Starring: Amber Midthunder, Dakota Beavers, Stormee Kipp

Runtime: 100 minutes

Genre: Action

Rating: 16+ (Disney+)

Available: Disney+ (Out Now)

Amber Midthunder gives a great performance in this prequel Predator movie, the actress carries this story set on Native American land in 1719 well before any of the events of previous entries. The setting leads to some tense action with these tribespeople being set up against the iconic alien with advanced tools and weapons.

The stunning visuals of the Native American territory was mostly filmed in Canada, but the beautiful vistas and natural setting are a nice backdrop to the film.

There are some standout sequences in the film, including a scene with a bear that has some good looking CGI and their first encounter with the Predator face to face. Overall, the CGI Predator looks really cool in this entry and he has lots to do with some amazing action and gore effects.

Score: 8/10
